#GenderUOC 2020: continuing our work towards equality at the UOC

06/03/2020

Once again we’ve marked International Women’s Day by holding our #GenderUOC event, which was attended by around 70 people.

Pastora Martínez, Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation, gave a presentation on the progress that has been made on our 2020-2025 Equality Plan, with input from Maria Olivella, coordinator of the Equality Unit, and the staff members leading the Plan’s four strategic pillars: Gemma Carrera, deputy general manager for teaching; Arnau Cillero, director of the Communications department; José Miguel de la Dehesa, director of the Personnel department; and Mònica de Forn, deputy general manager for research.

The second part of the event was a working session to pool strategic and operational goals for each pillar, with activities proposed to help achieve the objectives established in our new Equality Plan.

Three challenges to work on equality

Our faculties were also keen to contribute to #GenderUOC and so, over the course of this week, they have used social media to set us three challenges, for us to work on equality in the fields of each of the UOC’s seven faculties.
